Psychotherapy
A space to understand yourself more deeply.
Old ways of coping no longer work. Anxiety keeps you on edge. Relationships leave you feeling stuck. Or maybe you're just tired of carrying things alone. Therapy isn't about fixing yourself. It's about slowing down enough to see what's really happening and finding a path forward that feels true to who you are.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
— Carl Rogers
What I Work With
Anxiety and overwhelm: understanding your nervous system and finding calm beneath the surface
Depression and low mood: reconnecting with meaning and what matters to you
Relationship patterns: recognising why certain situations keep repeating
Trauma: experiences that were too overwhelming to make sense of and remain stuck in your system
Life transitions: career changes, grief and loss, parenting, becoming who you're meant to be
Self-criticism and shame: cultivating self-compassion and loosening harsh inner voices
Psychedelic integration: processing non-ordinary experiences to enable lasting change
“All behaviour makes sense in context”
- John Bowlby
How Therapy Works
-
A chance to ask questions, share a bit about why you want to engage in therapy and see if its the right fit working together.
-
I collect some information about your life that will support our therapy together, we map out what’s happening and what you want to change.
-
We talk through how we'll actually approach things together: what we focus on, how we'll work, and in the order that best serves your needs.
-
Regular sessions of 50 or 80 minutes. Sessions tend to be most effective when held regularly; in the early stages especially, meeting weekly helps build momentum in the work. That said, I understand the realities of time and cost, and the pace is always guided by what feels sustainable for you. Once things are working well, we can ease back on frequency. Together, we'll find a rhythm that offers the steadiness you need without stretching what you can manage.
-
We review what’s shifting, what’s working, and adjust the course as your needs change.
My Approach
I work from an integrative framework. Since no single method suits every situation, I draw on a range of theories and modalities to match what's needed at the time. I draw on a range of approaches, including:
Emotionally focused therapies — underneath most reactions is a need or a longing worth understanding
Attachment theory — the bonds we form early on tend to shape what we look for, and fear, in relationships later
Somatic and nervous-system-informed therapies — the body holds information the mind doesn't always have words for yet
Trauma-informed therapies — working in a way that's mindful of pace and safety, so as not to overwhelm
Acceptance and commitment-based approaches — making room for difficult thoughts and feelings while moving toward what matters
Psychodynamic and developmental therapies — some patterns make more sense once we see where they began
Existential approaches — sitting with the bigger questions of meaning, choice, and how to live
I also draw on philosophical and contemplative traditions, which inform how I think about change, meaning, and what it is to be human.
These approaches allow us to work with the whole range of experience and your being, collaboratively.
